Summer music campers learn from BGSU faculty

I am at strings camp today at BGSU and
I’m having a great time playing my violin and learning how to play some
chamber music at the camp we have any range from 11 years old to 18 years old
and they’re all working together to create music and learn how to interact
with each other last year was my first year I enjoyed it a lot so I decided to
come back it’s a great opportunity to like enhance your musical talents and
your technique the faculty are really nice and they know everything about
music if you have a problem they always know how to fix it or a tip trick
something to remember they’re really helpful it’s incredibly valuable to have one-on-one
lessons between the professors and the students the professors here are
amazing I had a lesson with Professor Chin this morning she goes in depth and
she makes sure that you really understand your technique and the music
so we have people that come from Cincinnati or Toledo and come stay on
campus and then we also have commuters from the BG community that come in and
it kind of engulfs everyone in the surrounding area we are staying at
Centennial Hall I have an awesome roommate we do a lot of fun activities
Sunday night the counselors made brownies after a long day of very
professional activities we always arrange different things in the evening
for example tonight will be the movie night since I am living in the dorms it’s a
little bit of learning the independence of being a college student you get the
full college experience in one week it’s an incredible recruiting tool for
the College of musical arts and we get to attract great music students from all
over the world I would love to see more and more kids come to our camp
