Ole Miss Defeats Bowling Green 8-1 (3-9-17)

– The #22 Ole Miss Rebels extended their school
record winning streak to 15 games in a row with a 8-1 win Thursday night against Bowling Green. Brittany, what impressed you the most out of the Rebels’ latest victory? – Once again, the freshman
Morgan Bruce coming out, lights out. Giving up just two hits in her outing. She set the tone for Ole Miss and then in the third and fourth inning, her offense came along, give her some runs and
the support she needed to get away with a W. – No question about that. Morgan Bruce had it
working tonight, folks. You mentioned just two hits,
no runs in four innings as she improves to 5-0 on the year. She struck out three, walked only one. – [Brittany] She worked it
with a nice pace this evening. She’s able to go in and out, field her position on
her way to the victory. – [Will] Ashton Lampton
had a two hit single in the five run third and
then here in the fourth, a two run homer, a no-doubter, her fifth of the year. – [Brittany] Hey, not just the home run, she was three for four today. It was a really, a
spark plug for her team. Played great defense along with it. – [Will] So Ole Miss wins it. They bang out 12 hits. Lampton had three of those, Elantra Cox went four for
four in the Ole Miss win. And up next, Ole Miss will try to
extend that winning streak on Friday night at 5:30
against Eastern Kentucky. For Brittany McKinney, I’m Will Kollmeyer and
that’s the story from Oxford.
