#myNCstory ~ NC Student Administrative Council and Big Brothers Big Sisters host bowling fundraiser

– Adam Maiolo, Marketing
and Events Manager. Niagara College Student
Administrative Council. – Shane Malcolm, SAC President of the Niagara College Student
Administrative Council. So NC BOWLS epitomizes like
what we strive for at SAC. So it’s a great way that
we bring in the community, a community need, and have more students directly benefit by participating. (jazz music) – [Adam] Big Brothers Big
Sisters will take youth in the community of St.
Catharine’s-Thorold and District who, for any various reasons, need a mentorship model in their life. And basically they pair them up with a suitable little and a suitable big. And they can do anything from hanging out, to go play video games, go to the ice rink for a skate. All kinds of things. (jazz music) The big thing that we
really want to kind of focus in on more, and we
have been in previous years, is expanding outside of
the Wallce Berry College and branching out and supporting
outside organizations. – So we actually have a
committee of Niagara College students who are essentially
planning everything. Recruiting teams helped us
pick the time, the date, what kind of prizes we’re giving out. They’re doing sponsorship asks. These students are heavily
involved in this event. – [Malcolm] It’s very
important for the college and for the students to get
involved in the community, and as Adam said, this really
helps to bridge that gap between Niagara College as
an institution, and SAC, and our students as community members. – [Adam] So there’s many ways a student can get involved with
Niagara College BOWLS. First and foremost, they
can visit our website, NCSAC.CA/NCBOWLS. They can also visit the Big
Brothers Big Sisters website at BBBSMENTORS.CA. And also they can pop
into either SAC office and talk to somebody who would be happy to steer them in the right direction. (jazz music) (drum music)
