Milam-Maroons Purples

SCORED JUST 21 SECONDS INTO THE 5-A TITLE GAME, BUT BOWLING GREEN WOULD SCORE THE NEXT 21 POINTS… BOWLING GREEN GOT THE 21-7 WIN… ENDING THE MAROONS HOPES OF WINNING BACK-TO- BACK TITLES… BRIAN MILAM HAS MORE. Pulaski scored 21 seconds into the game, from that point on, they were shutout. Bowling Green constantly harassed Riley Hall, their speed was blinding on offense, 21-7 Bowling Green once again the 5A state champion. John Hines “They did a good job up front. They just uh, they’re pass rush was really good. We had a hard time in pass protection. W weren’t able to run the ball very effectively and so they did a good job with they’re defensive front seven.” Jesse Whitaker: “We’ve got a zone offense and we tried to get east and west and make a cut, but they’re speed was just a little too much for us to handle tonight. We just weren’t prepared for all that speed.” BRIAN MILAM: Guys like Riley Hall, Mason Helton, and Jesse Whitaker, just to name a few, that senior class leaves behind a tremendous legacy at Pulaski County. Jesse Whitaker: ” We’ve been here three years in a row and I’m proud of that. I’m proud of all my teammates. I’m proud of the coaches, but I feel like yknow repeating back-to- back would have just been a dream come true.” MASON HELTON: “It’s definitely something we’re proud of to hang our hats on but it would have been nice to come out with all three, y’know? It’s one of those things that’s never been done in school history and I’m proud as ever to be a part of this team and what we’ve accomplished at our school. ” BRIAN MILAM: “Pulaski County is denied the repeat. Highlands, Bowling Green, and Pulaski are the only 5A state champions with Bowling Green back on top again. Reporting from Bowling Green, I’m Brian Milam WKYT
