Indoor Movement Activities for Winter

When the weather is too cold to stay outside
try some of these indoor movement activities with your children. What can you create with recycled items such
as bottles, boxes and cardboard tubes? Allow children to explore and use their imagination. Move your bodies to the music. Provide props like scarves, hats or shakers
to help children explore movement and rhythm in new ways. Jump, crawl and stretch! Encourage the children to help you think of
fun and safe obstacles you can create with everyday materials. Movement plays an important role in early
childhood development. Make sure you give your children the time
and space to get their bodies moving even when it is too cold to stay outside.
