(Day 1) The $1,600 Wynn ONE MILLION DOLLAR Main Event!

the wynn $1600 main event part of the wind
poker classic over 1 million dollars guaranteed in the prize pool this is a
No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament my specialty there’s no reason I can’t win
I’m feeling great let’s stay positive roll with the punches and bag up a big
stack right around 200,000 come back strong on dates you and take this baby
down we made it the win / encore pool party
is back in effect at 67 degrees I love Vegas 30,000 starting stack we sit down at a
six handed table to our direct left is Darren Elias four-time WPT champion also
known as the end boss that’s probably not good for us to my right is a Asian
regular it’s been doing well at Venetian and such and to Darren’s left is Mark
O’Donnell Adam so let’s play some poker blinds were
100/100 soon to be 100 100 100 300 big blinds look down ant pocket fives and
the cutoff make it 300 Mark McDonald makes it 1,200 from the small blind we
call flop comes King at Queen for two clubs we have two red fives he bets
upholstery 700 ships and we cannot continue he takes it down having the cutoff with pocket sixes make
it 300 to go Darren Elias it makes it 1,200 to go on
the button we’re deep let’s flop a set the flop comes jack
10-4 i check he bets 1800 and refold and we now have 30 thousand back to starting
stack after winning a few small pots on first break let’s stay focused with blinds at 100 200 200 first hand
back from break feeling good looked down at Jack ten suited under the
gun plus two so I make it 600 next to act dare analyse the end boss makes it
2,000 normally I had flat see a flop you know I try to outplay my opponent but
you gotta really be humble and disciplined in spots like this why would
I want to play a three-bet position with Jack high against the end boss so we lay
it down blinds have 100 200 200 I’m in the middle position with ace jack of
spades mmm go 3x this baby make it six hundred ago the only softer spot at the
table and older Caucasian recreational calls the button and Joe each on calls
the small blind with three ways to a flop flop comes jack
10 deuce we got top top extra checks to us about 1,500 button calls and Joey
calls still think we have the best hand turn is an off suit 3 Joey checks
I bet 5,000 button size and folds and Joey puts in the call rivers a seven and
Joey thinks for about 15 seconds before checking eight nine does get there but I
don’t think he’s going to continue with 8 9 on the turn
he could have jack 7 off or so played setting and score likely as a hand like
Queen Jack or King Jack so I think we have to go for value we can wrap a lot
of missed draws like East King ace queen king queen so i about 11,000 and he
calls within 10 seconds and we take down a nice pot with blinds at 100 300 300 d
cindy opens to 700 under the gun run to the gun plus 2 with king queen of clubs
good flat good 3 bet this time we decide to flat next to act Darren Elias makes
it 3,000 he’s been very active a lot of three betting a lot of cold for betting
even he’s here to gamble re-entry is still going on until dinner break
everybody folds back to me and I decide to put in the call let’s see a flop
the flop comes 10 10 7 1 club we gotta back to a straight draw we got a
backdoor flush draw we got overs we check and he bets 2500 he’s repping an
overpair but he can’t really have any attends of his range maybe ace 10 while
us we’re gonna be flagging all of our Jack tens 10 9 Queen ten suited type
hands and calling a raise so we can rep the 10 we also have a few combos of
pocket sevens in our range so let’s wrap it we make it 7,000 to go we have them
covered we can definitely continue and jam turns with any club or straight draw
card he thinks about it for a long time asked to see my chips and bolts take it
down with lines out 100 300 300 d Cindy opens the hi jack to 700 I’m on the
button with two black nines I definitely could fly out here but we’re pretty deep
and I want to take the lead make it 20 100 to go this is also to dissuade
Darren Elias from squeezing but he doesn’t care he goes into the tank and I
know what that means here comes the cold for bet he makes it 6,500 pretty big
sizing everyone folds back to me do i back jam 5 bet no we’re a little too
deep for that Darren started the hand with 50,000 I started the hand with
60,000 so let’s see a flop let’s hit a 9 let’s make it easy the flop comes King 9
5 2 diamonds he bets 5000 with about 40,000 behind what’s our best plan of
action here did we just flat call let them barrel off if a diamond comes off
it could kill our action and we might not be able to stack hands like ace king
in pocket aces I decide to try to induce a spew I raise it to 15,000 he should
still jam over this raise with ace king aces is a sex a diamond flush draw type
hands he’s not just gonna flat out of position with a nut flush draw
so we want him to get it inverse our set and this does put some Bluffs in our
range we could be turning a hand like Queen Jack
jack-jack 10 into a bluff he’s trying to take it down here he goes deep in the
tank ask to see my chips again and he folds but that’s ok we take it down
we’re now on second break with 70,000 chips from a 30k starting stack feeling
good all dealers is gonna come back in here blinds at four hundred eight hundred
under the gun plus one is Mark McDonald he makes it
eighteen hundred off a 70k stag recreational flats were in the big blind
with five eight of diamonds we complete let’s see a flop the flop comes eight
seven five two hearts I checked over to mark he bits it puts in a bed of 3,500
he’s wrapping an overpair all the guy fold so we could go for the check raised
but they want to be a little more deceptive under up our hand put in the
call let’s hope for no heart or no one line or do a straight turns an off suit
ace a check and he bets again 7,500 what’s he reppin a set we block a lot of
sets two pairs we block some two pairs don’t
see any reason to raise here so we put in the call the river is the worst
possible card in the deck the four of hearts straight gets there flush gets
there I check and he quickly checks I show two pair he looks confused and we
take it down we’re now on break with a hundred and fifty thousand going to one
thousand big blind if you can maintain over 100 big blind stack throughout the
tournament that’s some good living we’re in the comfort zone let’s bag and tag in
two hours I think with blinds at 500-1000 another gun plus
one Matt Waxman limps is about a 30 K stack I’m next to act with 10 9 suited
I’ve lost the last four out of five pots let’s not give up we make it 3500 to go
Asian male aged 25 to 45 on my deck left with two iPhones on the table puts in
the call action folds back to what Axman who also calls the flop comes seven
seven deuce one Spade great flop for our range Waxman checks
I bet three thousand as I do with all my over pairs in this situation we do have
back door drawers Asian male aged 25 to 45 calls the 3,000 Matt Waxman folds the
turn is the four of spades a great card we now have a flush draw but I don’t
think I can get him to fold his middle pair just yet am I gonna have to barrel
him off the stacks of hot ratio dictates that I have a good hand for a check jam
that’s right we check it over to him he bets 6,500 with 25k behind and I slide
in 80,000 he goes deep into the tank I’m trying to play it cool I’m trying to
look confident and he eventually puts in the fold we take it down with 10 high
back up to 160,000 the blinds at 600 1200 under the gun
plus one middle-aged Caucasian male opens to 3,000 I’m in the LoJack with
ace Jack suited part me wants to 3bet but there is a pretty fishy player in
the big blind we want him to come along so I put in the call and the big blind
does call were three ways to a flop the flop comes jack 10 deuce rainbow goes
check and a 7k bet from the original RAZR he’s wrapping an over pair but we
got top top we’re not going anywhere we got position I put in the call and the
big blind folds the turn is an off suit for original RAZR now bets 17,000 he
could be barreling with ace king ace queen king queen type hands or he could
just have an over pair and we’re in deep trouble but I don’t think we can full
top top just yet let’s see what the river brings we put in the call the
river is a four pairs the board no help for him if he was drawing but solidifies
his over pair value status he thinks about it and checks now I have to think
about going for value he probably would check call with a hand like Queen Jack
or King Jack we beat both of those but he’s just gonna check fold all ace king
ace Queen King Queen type hands so there’s no reason to bet if he’s never
calling with those hands anyway so we make a tight check back with top top and
he shows King Queen off suit and we now have a hundred and ninety thousand chips two things you have to do it’s very
important your name your tip count on the bag make sure it’s clear bag up a big stack right around 200,000 and I have bagged 197,000 chips from a
30k starting in the $1600 win classic main event over 1.4 million dollars in
the prize pool over 200k for first it’s a three-day event we’re coming back
strong tomorrow for day two and we’re gonna take it down on day three
what a great structure one our levels I loved playing at the win stay tuned for
part two it’s gonna be good
