5 of my favorite canine enrichment games you can play with your puppy, all from simple
items found around the house or that are just a click away to grab. I’ll share my must-have toys and supplies
in the description below! Michele here with How to Train a Dream dog,
and the creator of 30 Days to Puppy Perfection, our signature online puppy training program
where you can train your puppy from the comfort of home! Here’s the thing… dogs of all ages and
breeds need both mental and physical exercise to drain out all their pent up energy. And boy do some puppies have a ton of energy,
am I right? Without a way to release stored up energy,
we leave a puppy ready to explode… Ok well maybe not literally but our dog’s
behavior can suffer without the right amount of exercise, and this is one reason why dogs do all sorts
of unwanted behaviors like biting, jumping, digging …oh the list goes on and on… If we can tire out your dog’s brain and
body we have a better chance to keep their focus during training lessons or when its time to rest while you’re trying
to watch a movie at night or eat dinner and you don’t want to deal with begging If you want to grab some free training lessons,

to gab my 5 enrichment games I play with all my board and train dogs as well as my own. Before I begin, in the comments below tell
me how old your puppy is? Ok the first game you can play with your puppy
is called Rag Ball. This game is super fun and requires one of
the Hol-ee roller balls and some rags or strips of fabric. You can grab a brand new hol-ee roller ball
from the link in the description You’re going to roll up pieces of kibble
or training treats in each strip of fabric You’ll take those strips and feed them through
the holes on the ball Offer up the ball to your pup, watch the fun
begin! and with all toys make sure to supervise all
play, we don’t want your dog to eat the fabric…just the treats. As you can see from the video this pup is
really loving her Rag Ball Next up… the Busy Box You can use the same strips of fabric or maybe
if you have a bigger dog you can use towels or old clothes you were going to donate Put your fabric in the box and hide kibble
or treats among all the nooks and crannies of the fabric in the box Let your pup go to town digging and sniffing
there way to puppy bliss Sometimes I like to hide the box in the house
and have my pup play the find it game first. the big prize is the busy box! Ok, so Chucky cheese isn’t the only place
to have fun in the ball pit! You can create a ball pit for your puppy by
taking their puppy pen and turning it into a colorful place to hide kibble. If you’ve watched my puppy supplies video
you’ll notice I love the tall white metal pens for puppies. They are super sturdy and have vertical bars
to keep puppies from climbing them! You can grab ball pit balls from the link
below or maybe even at a local garage sale, I see tons of them at Goodwill too. Throw the balls in the pen and sprinkle the
food among the balls. This game is great for puppies who need to
work on slowing down their eating, have sound sensitivity or confidence issues. These enrichment games can help boost your
pup’s confidence as they learn to overcome the challenge of finding their food, or moving
objects out of the way to get at the prize The next game I love because you can use any
old box you have laying around the house. Make good use of all those Amazon boxes you
have and play Find it Frenzy Take your boxes and some kibble and hide a
few pieces under each box. Scatter your boxes around the room and watch
the fun take place. Your pup will think its their birthday as
they open their presents or nose, paw or pounce on the box to get their kibble or treats Start with a few boxes in one room and then
add several more all around the house. Your pup will love this find it frenzy game! If at any time your pup gets stuck, discouraged
or gives up on any of these games you can use higher value treats to motivate them even
more or help them by moving the boxes or fabrics around so they can see or find the treats. Once they figure out what they need to do
to reach the kibble or treats they will be more likely to stay engaged and work for the
prize Now, Bottle Blizt is another fun and super
simple game you can share with your puppy. Grab a 2 litter bottle or something similar,
remove the cap so they don’t eat it, drill a few holes in the side of the bottle big
enough for the treat or kibble to fall through and fill up the bottle with some yumminess It’s fun to watch your puppy spin, push
and roll the bottle around as they try to figure out how to get the kibble out Once they discover that it only takes a bit
of work to make the bottle rattle n roll they will soon discover that treats will magically
appear the more they make it move OK I’ve decided to share one last toy with
you that I absolutely love. This is the StarMark Bob- A – Lot, it’s
weighted at the bottom like a weeble wobble and can teeter back and forth as your puppy
paws and noses it. The cool thing about this toy is that it has
2 ways to control the flow of the treats or kibble that come out and it can accommodate
different sized kibble or treats. It has adjustable sliders to control how fast
or slow the food comes out and allows different sized kibble to easily pass through At first your pup might be confused but if
You push the Bob A Lot for your pup and they see a kibble fall out, they will be more likely
to try it on their own Be encouraging as your pup tries these new
toys and enrichment activities. Most pups figure these puzzles out very quickly
but some need a little extra oomph or a helpful hint on how it works If you’re looking for training tips and
