Canada Summer Games 2017 – Swimming Recap, Aug. 8

I was just looking to I finished the race quick get to the other end
splash and dash – really it’s just the fifty can’t do much else and try to get to the
end as quick as possible. My goal in this race was to go out a
little faster because I’m more of a longer distance rumor so for me it’s
kind of hard to spend my arms as fast that you need in a 50. So for me to go 29
that’s pretty good. I compared like the other time and I
tried to set a goal for myself. I tried to push as hard as I could. This is
all overwhelming for me. I just wanted to try pace each of the hundreds wait for the breaststroke which is my best and just have fun racing
against all these amazing people from across the province. I prefer the breaststroke I like them
all but the breaststroke being my best stroke I really enjoy it getting to go
and just after the backstroke which isn’t my best getting to go and do my
best breast stroke is probably my favorite. I love Winnipeg it’s so beautiful everyone’s
been so welcoming all of the volunteers I’ve been amazed at how many people have
been open and just welcoming all of the athletes from every province. I just wanted to really have fun and
focus on my turns and my start. It feels good especially because
I’m at my home pool and I know half the people here especially my parents that
are cheering me on up in the stands. I’m hoping to get another metal in
the 50 free because I’m ranked second so far.
